FGHS Students Named National Merit Semifinalists
Forest Grove High School seniors Peter Lommen and Paul Schot have been named semifinalists in the National Merit Scholarship program. A former student, Rosie Steinbach, also was named as a semifinalist. Rosie graduated early and now attends Stanford University. The three are among 16,000 students nationwide who scored in the top one percent of U.S. high school seniors on the 2011 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. They will learn in February if they have been selected as finalists and eligible for National Merit Scholarships.
